Workshop: Trauma sensitive kink on November 29th
Hello friends,
we have received a fantastic offer: We will have a super interesting workshop about “trauma sensitive/trauma informed kink”.
When?
Saturday, November 29th, at 18:00, duration roughly 3 hours (with break)
Signup at
info@kitchentable.social.
What is it about?
Even if most people have had some kind of traumatic experience, some people are particularly affected by trauma in kink.
How can I, as a queer person, practice trauma informed consent, play, and eventually promote trauma growth in me and my play partner? What are good first aid measures in an emergency, and what does this kind of emergency even look like?
This workshop informs, based on the Scaffolding Model, about trauma and trauma disorders, based on ICD-11 diagnostics of PTSD and comples PTSD, and how to spot them in kink situations. Together we will explore TICK (Trauma Informed Consensual Kink), practicing by example.
In a second part we will use non-kinky roleplaying to explore what options we have in kink-related situations. We will also answer practical questions about trauma, coping skills, and consent.
Disclaimer: This workshop is about a safer handling of trauma in kink situations, for play partners of people who have experienced trauma. It is not a therapeutic measure, or a self-help class. The goal is to inform those who aren’t directly affected by traume, and strengthen safety and agency in kink play. The workshop is designed to be collaborative and with as low a barrier to entry as possible, but it is helpful to have some kink experience to fully profit from participation. We will also look at trauma beyond the ICD-11 diagnoses: Cultural trauma and intergenerational trauma are in mind, including a decolonial perspective. The workshop is explicitly political: We strive to have a thoughtful and self-aware approach to queerphobia, racism, classism, ableism, fatphobia, and ageism.
How much does the workshop cost?
The workshop will be donation-based. It should be possible for everyone to participate. We have a donation box so that educational work doesn’t always have to be completely unpaid.
Language
Depending on the participants, the workshop can be in German or English.
How can I participate?
